A Journey Back to Ancient Egypt

The class learned all about mummification and discovered why it was such an important part of Egyptian life. They even had the chance to write their names in hieroglyphics, just like the scribes thousands of years ago. 

There was plenty of fun too as the children played ancient board games and imagined what life was like for families living along the River Nile.

One of the highlights was using VR headsets to explore famous sights. The children visited the Valley of the Kings and the incredible Pyramids of Giza, then compared modern Cairo with Egypt as it was 3,000 years ago. It was a brilliant way to see history come alive.

Everyone was completely absorbed in the experience and loved every minute. It was a fantastic way to learn and make memories. A big thank you to Sue and Cat for giving Year 4 such a special day.
