Year 5 Explore the World of Grime Music

To kick off the unit, the children were thrilled to welcome a special guest, Joe - a professional Grime artist - who shared his passion and expertise with the year group.

During the session, pupils listened to a range of Grime tracks, identifying different instruments and discussing their thoughts and feelings about the music. Inspired by what they heard, each class then worked together to create their own unique song. They carefully selected which instruments to include and voted on how to arrange them to produce a unique sound.

To round off the experience, some brave and enthusiastic pupils chose to perform their own raps over the beats they had helped to create.

It was a fantastic start to the topic and a memorable musical experience for all!
